WELCOME
The Oscar Wilde Society of America
is an academic and literary society founded in 2002 to promote the study,
understanding, and dissemination of research about Oscar Wilde and his times
from the American perspective.
We are especially engaged in
fostering a wider awareness of Oscar Wilde's 1882 American
lecture tour, a greater appreciation of his views on the
redemptive value of beauty in our daily lives, and knowledge of the artists, educators, celebrated people, and others he met
on his tour across the continent.
We welcome all who share
our interest to support,
make contributions, and join in this celebration.
