Overview Oscar Wilde in America: The Interviews, edited by Matthew Hofer and Gary Scharnhorst (University of Illinois Press, 2010) is a welcome addition to scholarship on Wilde's American lecture tour. The book includes annotated transcriptions of 48 newspaper interviews with Wilde dated to 1882. These are arranged chronologically. Also included is a "Bibliography of All Known Interviews with Oscar Wilde" citing 107 Wilde interviews, 98 from 1882. The OWSoA INTERVIEWS calendar features 1882 American newspaper interviews with Wilde not included in Hofer and Scharnhorst's "Bibliography of All Known Interviews with Oscar Wilde." |
